Equipment Technician

About the role

The Equipment Technician will support Tata Electronics' state‑of‑the‑art semiconductor foundry by maintaining and optimizing a range of surface‑mount technology (SMT) equipment. This hands‑on role ensures that production lines run smoothly, meet quality standards, and achieve on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines such as SPI, Fuji, GKG Printer, Reflow ovens, and AOI systems.
• Perform SMT machine troubleshooting, calibration, and routine maintenance.
• Execute line installation, alignment, and bring‑up activities.
• Program Fuji mounters and implement cycle‑time reduction initiatives.
• Conduct breakdown analysis, repair, and spare‑part management.
• Control machine tossing and oversee new product development, including CPK and GRR studies.
• Ensure all stations produce products that meet quality standards and drive zero‑defect goals.
• Evaluate and adjust material workflow to increase throughput and productivity.
• Collaborate with line engineers, managers, and supervisors to develop work schedules that support 100% on‑time delivery.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and ensure equipment and tools are ready for use.

Required profile

• Diploma in a relevant technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with SMT equipment.

Required skills

• SPI, Fuji, GKG Printer, Reflow, AOI operation.
• SMT machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration.
• Line installation, alignment, and equipment bring‑up.
• Fuji mounter programming and cycle‑time reduction.
• Breakdown analysis, repair, and spare‑part management.
• Machine tossing control, CPK, GRR, and machine installation.
