Engineering Team Leader – Mechanical (India)

About the role

Husky TechnologiesTM is seeking an Engineering Team Leader for its Mechanical platform in Guindy, Chennai. The role involves building and leading a multidisciplinary mechanical design team to develop innovative Husky products, ensuring high quality, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor and cross‑train a team of junior, senior and specialist mechanical designers.
• Oversee design, development and release of new machine platforms and critical service requests.
• Plan and schedule design activities to meet committed delivery dates.
• Enforce product development processes, design documentation, risk mitigation and compliance with standards.
• Drive technical discussions, design reviews and executive updates for high‑quality solutions.
• Establish engineering standards, contribute to product architecture and technology roadmap.
• Facilitate cross‑disciplinary collaboration with supply chain, service and operations.
• Interview, hire and grow new team members.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
• Strong leadership ability to motivate and develop a high‑performing team.
• Sound decision‑making and judgment with system‑level thinking.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical design discipline.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including proven leadership.
• Experience in heavy machinery or injection molding industry is a plus.
