Engineering Team Leader – Mechanical (Chennai)

About the role

Lead the mechanical engineering platform team at Husky Technologies, overseeing junior, senior and specialist designers. Drive innovation, quality, risk mitigation and customer satisfaction for new machine platforms and service solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor and cross‑train a multidisciplinary mechanical design team.
• Oversee design, development and release of new Husky machine platforms and critical service requests.
• Plan and schedule design activities to meet committed delivery dates.
• Enforce product development processes, design documentation, risk mitigation and compliance with standards.
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews and executive updates to ensure high‑quality solutions.
• Establish engineering standards through solid design decisions, processes and tools.
• Collaborate with supply chain, service and operations to align cross‑functional efforts.
• Interview, hire and integrate new team members.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
• Strong leadership ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Sound decision‑making and judgment with system‑level thinking.
• Deep knowledge of mechanical design discipline.
• Flexibility and ability to embrace changing priorities.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including leadership roles.
