Engineering Manager – Water & Wastewater Treatment Design

About the role

Assystem is seeking an Engineering Manager/Team Lead to drive detailed design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects, including STP, ETP, WTP, RO, UF/MF, desalination and pumping stations. The role combines technical leadership, project management and client interaction to ensure safe, on‑time and on‑budget execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead detailed design of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, sludge systems and distribution networks.
• Oversee project lifecycle from feasibility studies to commissioning, managing budgets, schedules and risk.
• Direct hydraulic and process calculations, simulations, equipment sizing and selection of treatment technologies such as ASP, MBBR, SBR, MBR, RO, UV and chlorination.
• Mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, coordinate with procurement, construction and commissioning groups.
• Act as primary technical contact for clients, present solutions and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Water Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 12–18 years of experience in water/wastewater projects with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record delivering STP, ETP, WTP and pumping station projects for municipal or industrial clients.
• Strong knowledge of process, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation aspects of treatment plants.

Required skills

• Hydraulic and process calculations, simulations and equipment sizing.
• Treatment technology expertise: ASP, MBBR, SBR, MBR, RO, UV, chlorination.
• QA/QC implementation and environmental, health & safety compliance.
• Use of CAD/BIM tools for design documentation.
