Engineering Manager – Java, Decision Management Platform

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a visionary Engineering Manager to lead a service group within its Decision Management Platform for fraud detection. You will drive engineering excellence, scale delivery capabilities, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability while aligning technology strategy with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering strategy for a high‑volume, low‑latency fraud detection platform.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, mission‑critical software solutions.
• Mentor and grow high‑performing engineers, promoting best practices in secure SDLC and compliance.
• Oversee reliability engineering, observability, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, and resource planning for platform evolution.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of software engineering and architecture experience, including leadership on complex platforms.
• Proven track record delivering distributed, high‑volume transaction systems.
• Experience in fintech, digital payments, authentication, or identity systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
