Engineering Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our R&D Engineering team, drive new product development and continuous improvement, and deliver innovative, cost‑effective engineering solutions that meet customer needs and strengthen NOV’s technological advantage. The role is responsible for directing and coordinating the engineering team to maintain and improve existing products while addressing customer requirements and preserving NOV’s industry leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engineering projects on time, within budget, and to quality expectations.
• Improve product reliability and reduce customer issues through sustaining engineering.
• Develop and retain a high‑performing engineering team through coaching and succession planning.
• Drive cost‑reduction and continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance profitability.
• Partner with customers and cross‑functional teams to ensure solutions meet business and market needs.
• Lead design of new products, modification of existing designs, and improvement of production techniques.
• Manage team activities including training, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, and goal setting.
• Oversee budget and expenditures and ensure accurate documentation of project results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 12–15 years of experience in research and development engineering.
• Product‑specific design training with ability to troubleshoot product function issues.
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Valid B1 United States visa is desired.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD for creating and manipulating complex models, parts, and assemblies.
• Understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) theory and result interpretation.
• Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) theory and result interpretation.
• Ability to conduct patent searches (IP Series training).
• Solid foundation in mechanical engineering design calculations.
