Engineer / Senior Engineer – ECU Quality (ISU)

About the role

Engineer / Senior Engineer – ECU Quality (ISU) will join KONE’s Quality Team in Chennai, reporting to the ECU‑Quality Manager. The role promotes a proactive quality culture, sets targets, analyses cost of poor quality and drives continuous improvement across the supply unit.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and develop proactive quality culture, communicate importance of quality and engage the organization.
• Set local quality targets aligned with global goals and analyse customer feedback and process data for improvement.
• Liaise with functional and operational leaders globally and locally to execute continuous quality improvement projects.
• Drive reduction of quality‑related financial losses and report quality metrics (e.g., RUSH).
• Plan, execute and follow‑up quality audits, support corrective actions and lead quality improvement teams.
• Facilitate implementation of KONE Quality Management System (ISO) and support Lean Six Sigma initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–6 years of quality experience in automotive or engineering industry.
• Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Experience working in an international, multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of quality tools, methods and systems.
• Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts.
• Familiarity with ISO Quality Management System.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Project management and change management capabilities.
