ELK Engineer – Enterprise Logging Platform

About the role

We are looking for an ELK Engineer to design, develop and operate our enterprise-wide logging platform. You will work within TELUS Digital’s DS Operations team, delivering scalable, secure and high-performance solutions that power real-time observability for our global products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, Fleet) across AWS and GCP environments.
• Implement Elastic clusters on Kubernetes using Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and Harness.
• Perform capacity planning, scalability and high-availability reviews, and ensure security and access controls.
• Build high-volume data ingestion pipelines, integrate with Kafka, Redis and other log streaming tools, and create multi-tenant dashboards.
• Optimize and tune the ELK environment for performance, investigate new Elastic features, and support production incidents on a rotating on-call schedule.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Elastic Stack engineering or related logging platforms.
• Strong background with AWS and GCP, including OpenSearch.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, ECK, CI/CD (GitLab, Harness), and Java core development.
• Familiarity with SQL query optimization, UI development, and security/access management concepts.
• Willingness to participate in weekend on-call rotations.
