About the role
The Manufacturing Tech – Electro‑Mechanical III supports Drilling Services Manufacturing through wiring, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of electro‑mechanical MWD/LWD assets. The role requires strong technical capability, a proactive mindset, and the ability to raise improvement ideas that enhance HSE, quality, delivery, cost, and operational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Perform wiring, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical drilling tools, components and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, parts lists and technical procedures.
- Solder and assemble electro‑mechanical components according to approved work instructions and quality standards.
- Use electrical test instruments such as multimeters, meggers, hi‑pot testers and Wee Tech.
- Support scheduled, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
- Conduct quality assurance checks in line with manufacturing, engineering, ISO and internal compliance requirements.
- Apply knowledge of AC/DC electrical circuits, mechanical assemblies and precision measuring equipment.
- Identify technical issues, support root‑cause analysis and contribute practical troubleshooting solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including quality and engineering, to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Maintain accurate assembly administration records, system updates and documentation for traceability.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; higher education in electro‑mechanical or related fields preferred.
- Technical vocational certification in AC/DC circuits, fluid power systems or related field preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in electro‑mechanical wiring, assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience with Baker Hughes Drilling Services TIDs full rebuild / manufacturing assembly for downhole MWD/LWD tools.
- Proven track record of raising Stop Work actions related to HSE, quality or operational risk.
- Demonstrated contributions to improvement ideas, initiatives or projects delivering measurable value.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using general hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
