Electrician – Maintenance & Power Systems

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join our campus facilities team. The role involves maintaining and improving the institution’s electrical infrastructure to ensure reliable power for all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on switchgears, transformers, circuit breakers, and lighting networks.
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing devices such as multimeters and clamp meters, and promptly repair or replace faulty wiring, switches, and fixtures.
• Monitor and maintain campus power distribution units, backup generators, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) to guarantee uninterrupted power supply.
• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with national and state electrical safety codes and institutional hazard protocols.
• Assist with planning, wiring, and installing new electrical systems, equipment, and upgrades across the campus.
• Maintain accurate logs of maintenance work, repairs performed, and electrical equipment inventory.
• Provide on‑call support and respond immediately to power outages and urgent electrical safety hazards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with national and state electrical safety regulations.
• Ability to work on‑call and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Strong attention to detail for record‑keeping and compliance.
