Electrical Systems Engineer – E3

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer (E3) to design and modify complex electrical and electronic assemblies for semiconductor equipment. The role is based in Bangalore and involves working with global teams to develop sub‑systems, control panels, and cable harnesses.

Key responsibilities

• Design and modify electrical/electronic engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics and detailed drawings for high‑complexity scope.
• Identify and troubleshoot complex electrical problems, generate test reports and perform engineering analysis with limited supervision.
• Lead engineering projects, develop key supplier relationships and define electrical product specifications.
• Collaborate with global teams on control panel design, cable harness design, routing, and integration of industrial communication protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in semiconductor equipment.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, NEMA and SEMI S2 standards, and ability to calculate load ampere requirements.
• Proven ability to work independently, lead small projects and mentor junior engineers.

Required skills

• Zuken E3S, AutoCAD, E‑plan or similar CAD tools for panel and harness design.
• Electrical panel design, cable harness design, switchgear selection, and load calculations.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as DeviceNet, Ethernet and EtherCAT.
• Experience with Teamcenter, SAP PLM, NX, MS Project and Gantt‑chart preparation.
