Electrical Systems Engineer (E2 Level)

About the role

As an Electrical Systems Engineer (E2) at Applied Materials you will design, integrate and optimise complex electrical subsystems for semiconductor equipment. You will work with cross‑functional global teams to develop specifications, perform testing and ensure high‑quality delivery for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and modify electrical/electronic assemblies, schematics and detailed drawings for process chambers.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical problems with limited supervision.
• Generate engineering test reports and perform analysis of difficult‑scope projects.
• Lead or execute engineering projects, including development of key suppliers and implementation of product solutions.
• Design control panels, cable harnesses and routing using CAD tools (Zuken E3S, AutoCAD).
• Collaborate with internal and external customers on electrical issues and provide technical solutions.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in semiconductor equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to solve moderately complex problems and lead small projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards (IEC, NEMA, SEMI S2) and industrial communication protocols.

Required skills

• Electrical panel and cable‑harness design using Zuken E3S, AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Load calculation, switchgear and auxiliary component selection.
• Controller‑based automation (Digital I/O, Analog I/O) and field instrumentation.
• Industrial communication protocols: DeviceNet, Ethernet, EtherCAT.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter, NX and SAP PLM environments.
