Electrical Lead – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies is seeking an Electrical Lead to drive the design and engineering of utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will ensure that all electrical solutions meet grid codes, safety standards, and customer requirements from concept through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end electrical design of BESS plants, including single‑line diagrams, cable sizing, grounding, protection schemes and equipment specifications (transformers, switchgear, RMUs, UPS).
• Define and validate grid‑connection requirements with utilities, covering voltage levels, fault levels, protection interfaces, metering and power‑quality compliance.
• Perform load‑flow, short‑circuit and protection coordination studies; support harmonic and power‑quality analyses.
• Ensure designs adhere to IEC/IEEE standards, local grid codes and electrical safety regulations.
• Maintain internal design standards, templates and checklists for BESS and grid‑connected systems.
• Drive design reviews (HIRA/HAZID/HAZOP) focusing on electrical safety, arc‑flash risk and functional safety.
• Provide technical authority for BESS projects, reviewing vendor documentation and supporting construction, FAT/SAT and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading electrical engineering for large‑scale energy storage or power‑system projects.
• Strong knowledge of grid codes, protection principles and safety standards.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and external partners (EPCs, OEMs, consultants).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
