Electrical Engineering Technician – Skilled I/II

About the role

The Engineering Technician – Electrical (Skilled I/II) is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems in a pharmaceutical/FMCG manufacturing environment. The role ensures reliable power supply, supports production uptime, and follows strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and resolve electrical breakdowns on production and utility equipment.
• Perform day‑to‑day, preventive and predictive maintenance on HT/LT distribution, HVAC, air compressors, boilers, chillers and related systems.
• Execute shift maintenance activities while adhering to GSK EHS guidelines, permit‑to‑work and LOTO procedures.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and preventive‑maintenance work orders.
• Interact with production staff, cross‑functional teams and contractors to ensure continuous power supply.
• Identify and suggest improvements for equipment performance and reliability.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within pharma or FMCG manufacturing.
• ITI/NCTVT/Diploma qualification plus a valid PWD Electrical Supervisor licence.
• Ability to work independently on shift and resolve issues without supervision.

Required skills

• Electrical breakdown and preventive maintenance.
• High‑voltage (HT) and low‑voltage (LT) distribution systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, sensors, HMI systems, variable frequency drives (VFD) and servo drives.
• Experience with utility equipment such as HVAC, air compressors, boilers and chillers.
• Familiarity with automation and control systems.
