Electrical Design Engineer TPS - DC

About the role

Siemens is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer specialized in DC Traction Power Supply (TPS) to join its international team in Pune. The role involves designing, detailing, and releasing DC substation equipment in line with ANSI/IEEE standards for railway applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of complete DC Traction Power Supply equipment for projects, adhering to ANSI/IEEE standards.
• Perform preliminary and detailed design of DC TPS substations for electrical railway systems.
• Create detailed electrical engineering drawings, including single line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, overviews and bills of material.
• Coordinate technical interfaces between all DC TPS sub‑system components within the substation.
• Review and release DC substation designs at each project phase.
• Manage, plan and control own engineering work package.
• Collaborate with sales and project management during bid and execution phases.
• Provide technical clarifications to overseas sub‑suppliers and support manufacturing and commissioning engineers.
• Participate in technical liaison meetings with customers, suppliers and internal Siemens departments worldwide.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards for DC traction power supply.
• Experience in preliminary and detailed design of DC TPS substations.
• Proficiency in preparing electrical engineering drawings such as single line diagrams, general arrangement drawings and bills of material.
