Drivetrain Design Engineer

About the role

Join the TRATON family as a Drivetrain Design Engineer based in Pune, India. You will work in a hybrid environment, contributing to the development of sustainable transportation solutions for MAN Truck & Bus. The role involves close collaboration with global teams and suppliers to bring innovative drivetrain components to market.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop drivetrain components and assemblies, including gearbox peripherals, axles, gears, and shafts, using CATIA V5.
• Perform concept development, packaging studies, design feasibility investigations, and support testing activities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and suppliers for engineering changes, product releases, and documentation.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D models in CATIA V5 and ensure designs meet GD&T, manufacturing, quality, and product development requirements.
• Support engineering change management, release processes, and product documentation.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• BE/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile engineering.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, casting, and sheet‑metal design processes.
• Understanding of drivetrain system testing and willingness to travel internationally.
• Basic understanding of AI tools.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 (2D drawing and 3D modelling).
• Casting design and sheet‑metal design.
• PLM tools such as Windchill and Enovia.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of product development life‑cycle processes.
