Dispatch Lead

About the role
The Dispatch Lead oversees the movement of all freight loads within an assigned region, ensuring timely deliveries and profitability. This position works closely with the customer service team to maintain high service standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage movement of all loads in the region and monitor profitability.
- Identify capacity shortfalls and approve over‑target rate movements.
- Assign carriers based on delivery information, service levels, and profitability targets.
- Confirm pickups and deliveries, schedule dock operations, and ensure daily load coverage.
- Provide tender rule and system enhancement suggestions.
- Negotiate carrier rates to stay within target margins.
- Prepare load movement, margin, and service‑failure activity reports.
- Perform additional duties as required by supervisors.
Required profile
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Strong collaboration skills within a team environment.
- Effective multitasking and workload prioritisation.
