Director – Supplier Account Management

About the role

The Director of Supplier Account Management leads the India‑based machining and surface‑treatment supplier teams for a global leader in semiconductor equipment. Reporting to the India supply‑chain head, the role defines and executes global sourcing strategies, builds resilient supplier ecosystems, and ensures cost‑competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement global commodity and sourcing strategies aligned with cost, risk, and growth objectives.
• Build and manage executive‑level relationships with key suppliers, serving as senior escalation point for critical issues.
• Lead large‑scale, complex commercial negotiations and contract development across the global supplier base.
• Identify and mitigate geopolitical, regulatory, and capacity risks, establishing multi‑sourcing and alternate pipelines.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations and NPI teams to qualify suppliers and ensure material readiness for new product introductions.
• Establish supplier KPIs (cost, quality, delivery, lead time, innovation) and drive continuous improvement using data‑driven insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s/MBA preferred) with 15+ years of supply‑chain, procurement or strategic sourcing experience.
• 7–10 years of leadership experience managing global sourcing teams and supplier ecosystems.
• Proven track record of high‑value global negotiations and building supply chains in emerging markets, especially India.
• Indian citizenship, valid passport, and willingness to travel 35–50% internationally.
