Director – Recruitment & Career Development

About the role

The Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across Deejays’ recruitment and career‑development ecosystem, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and growth objectives. This full‑time, on‑site position in Chandigarh oversees business development, client relationships, and partnerships while guiding the expansion of services such as Deejays Elevate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor cross‑functional teams, set performance goals and establish processes that deliver high‑quality candidate experiences and inclusive hiring practices.
• Oversee business development activities, manage client relationships and forge partnerships with employers and community organisations.
• Review key metrics, manage budgets and make data‑informed decisions to support sustainable business outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on marketing, program design and service delivery, and represent Deejays at external events.
• Advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and identify new opportunities to strengthen impact across India.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and management experience, including building and guiding teams and driving organisational growth.
• Strong business development and relationship‑management capabilities with a track record of partnering with clients or community organisations.
• Experience in recruitment, talent management or career development and knowledge of contemporary hiring practices.
• Commitment to DEI and experience implementing inclusive policies or programmes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Strategic planning and analytical skills, comfortable with data‑driven decision‑making, performance metrics and budget oversight.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, social sciences or related field; a master’s degree or equivalent experience is highly beneficial.
