About the role

Mount Holyoke College is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to head the Weissman Center for Leadership. The Director will shape the Center’s strategic direction, expand student pathways into public service, and raise the Center’s national profile.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a long‑term vision for leadership development and civic engagement.
• Engage directly with students, mentoring them as emerging leaders.
• Oversee staff and faculty collaborators, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Manage the Center’s budget, resources, and day‑to‑day operations.
• Serve as the public face of the Center, building regional and national partnerships.
• Promote the Center’s mission within the liberal‑arts context of Mount Holyoke.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in higher education, public service, government, nonprofit, or a mission‑aligned organization.
• Academic credentials comparable to faculty, typically a terminal degree in a relevant field.
• Deep commitment to gender‑diverse education and public‑service pathways.
• Ability to navigate shared governance and collaborative decision‑making.
