Director, Finance

About the role

CommerceIQ is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the finance function for its India entity. The role will own accounting, statutory compliance, banking relationships and treasury operations while partnering with the global controllership team in the US.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting, reconciliations and the monthly/quarterly/annual close in NetSuite and produce financial dashboards for senior leadership.
• Ensure full Indian statutory compliance (GST, TDS, corporate tax, PF/PT, STPI) including configuration and reporting within NetSuite and maintain board and company secretary filings.
• Act as authorized signatory on corporate banking platforms (e.g., HSBC) for payments, payroll, foreign exchange, inter‑company funding and oversee payroll processing and employee settlements.
• Maintain and improve finance systems (Tipalti, Navan, FloQast), coordinate internal and external audits, manage outsourced accounting and tax vendors, and lead the India finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 10‑12+ years of progressive finance experience, including team leadership in a multi‑entity, global organization.
• Deep knowledge of Indian GAAP, Ind AS, Companies Act 2013 and GST/TDS/ PF/PT compliance.
• Proven experience as an authorized signatory for corporate banking and in coordinating statutory audits and filings.
• Strong vendor negotiation and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
