Director - Datacenter CPU Software Engineering

About the role

Qualcomm is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead critical firmware and platform software development for server CPU and SoC platforms. Based in the Bangalore Development Center, you will shape high‑impact teams that deliver robust, secure, and high‑performance firmware across the server stack.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale a multi‑level engineering organization covering virtual platforms, OpenBMC, RAS, SQA, and DevOps.
• Partner with functional leads across geographies to define charter, scope, and execution model for firmware development.
• Drive technical strategy from silicon bring‑up through production deployment and sustainment.
• Establish strong collaboration with silicon architecture, hardware design, validation, platform, and operations teams.
• Build and mentor engineering managers and senior technical leaders, creating a robust succession pipeline.
• Ensure firmware quality, reliability, security, and maintainability meet Qualcomm standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience (7+ with a Master’s, 6+ with a PhD).
• 4+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python.
• Proven leadership of large, technically complex engineering teams.
