Director - Controller

About the role

The Director‑Controller will lead the accounting function, ensuring the health of the balance sheet while driving efficiency and financial integrity across the enterprise. This senior position combines strategic oversight of balance‑sheet reporting with hands‑on management of overdue accounts and automation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Contact clients with overdue accounts and implement preventive measures to reduce future exposure.
• Review, analyse and report on AXP and segment balance‑sheet data.
• Generate data‑driven business insights and sustain enterprise‑wide balance‑sheet health.
• Research and clear balance‑sheet reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Leverage GenAI tools for problem solving and process automation.
• Collaborate with account owners, regulators and segment controllers.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects, intelligent automation and compliance monitoring.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring satisfactory audit outcomes and SOX compliance.
• Support standardisation initiatives and platform modernisation.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.

Required profile

• CA/CPA with 10+ years of experience, or equivalent postgraduate/graduate experience.
• Strong project‑management and communication abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with the capacity to inspire diverse teams.
• Executive presence and ability to influence under pressure.
• Strategic thought‑leadership and strong analytical capabilities.
• Deep understanding of financial statements, balance‑sheet reporting and AR/AP processes.
