Director – Centre of Excellence Financial Crime Compliance (Bangalore)

About the role

The Centre of Excellence Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Director will lead a global team responsible for anti‑money laundering (AML), know‑your‑customer (KYC), fraud prevention and sanctions compliance. Based in Bangalore, the role serves as the hub for industry best practices, driving strategic transformation and ensuring regulatory adherence across jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide deep domain expertise on AML, KYC, fraud and sanctions regulations.
• Oversee multi‑shore teams delivering periodic reviews, enhanced due diligence and transaction monitoring.
• Lead automation initiatives, process enhancements and technology adoption to modernise the compliance programme.
• Engage with C‑suite and CXO stakeholders, balancing commercial objectives with risk‑focused regulatory demands.
• Design and implement quality‑assurance frameworks, training programmes and compliance mind‑sets across all FCC teams.
• Maintain data‑management frameworks, drive intelligence insights and assess contractual risks.
• Ensure proactive communication of emerging risks to senior leadership.

Required profile

• 15‑20+ years of experience in a Centre of Excellence for Financial Crime Compliance.
• Regulatory and audit exposure across multiple global jurisdictions.
• Product/platform experience with compliance or fraud systems.
• Background in BFSI, FinTech or ITES/BPO environments serving global clients.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale compliance or transformation programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management skills at senior executive level.
