Detail Design Engineer – Mechanical Design (Chennai)

About the role

HELLA India Lighting Ltd. is seeking a Detail Design Engineer to join its mechanical design team in Chennai. You will be responsible for developing and verifying mechanical components for lighting related parts, supporting the company’s innovative automotive solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design articles for lighting components.
• Verify designs through simulations, tolerance calculations and other analyses.
• Lead involvement and definition meetings with cross‑functional teams.
• Create and manage mechanical design requirements.
• Plan and define verification samples and evaluate the results.
• Provide data for design evaluation and define dimensional requirements for individual parts.
• Apply general technical rules throughout the design process.

Required profile

• Diploma in Tool and Die Engineering or related post‑diploma (CIPET, NTTF).
• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1‑3 years (up to 6 years) of experience in lighting‑related part design.
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).

Required skills

• CATIA V5.
• Moldflow (advantageous).
• Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Microsoft Excel.
