Desktop Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team and ensure the smooth operation of server hardware, software and network services across the district. You will work independently to install, configure and maintain critical systems while providing technical assistance to staff.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and deploy server hardware, operating systems, applications and patches.
• Maintain and troubleshoot server issues, security, and large‑scale enterprise applications.
• Provide Active Directory management, including user and computer account administration.
• Resolve blocked website issues and manage content filtering.
• Deploy, configure and maintain servers in both virtualized and traditional environments.
• Create and run scripts for system monitoring, diagnostics and automation.
• Support device management tasks such as image development, mobile device management and application packaging.
• Design and implement high‑availability solutions, including backup/recovery, failover, load balancing and redundancy.
• Install and test server components like disks and memory, and evaluate system and network requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in desktop or server support.
• Proven ability to solve complex hardware and software problems independently.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Familiarity with desktop support tools and software.
• Good interpersonal and multitasking abilities.
