Design Engineer – Sheetmetal, Tubing & Plastic Components

About the role

The Design Engineer will collaborate with the Engineering and Design team to gather technical requirements, execute sales orders, and develop manufacturable designs for sheet‑metal, tubing, and plastic components within the residential and commercial HVAC domain.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the Engineering/Design team to gather technical requirements and execute sales orders.
• Understand sheet‑metal manufacturing processes and create manufacturable designs, drawings, and documentation according to Lennox standards.
• Develop plumbing designs for tubing modules that can be produced across multiple factories and generate associated drawings.
• Create designs for plastic components and produce engineering models from industrial designs.
• Generate bills of material (BOM) and manufacturing specifications.
• Multitask across parallel testing efforts while maintaining project schedules.
• Operate with limited supervision to keep new product development on track.

Required profile

• 2–3 years hands‑on experience with SAP systems and sales order processing.
• Experience in sheet‑metal and plastic component design and manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Background in residential and commercial HVAC domains.
• Understanding of GD&T and DFMEA methodologies.
