Design Engineer – Series Platform Engineer (Automotive Connectors)

About the role

Bosch is seeking a Design Engineer to lead the series platform development of automotive connectors. You will be responsible for creating parametric models, manufacturing drawings, and ensuring compliance with customer and OEM specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and guide the design and development of automotive connector series.
• Create independent parametric models, development, manufacturing and offer drawings.
• Perform requirement analysis, focus matrix and concept reviews.
• Implement engineering change requests (ECR) on series parts.
• Conduct tolerance stack‑up, functional proof, and design calculations for connector assemblies.
• Benchmark connectors, compare specifications and support validation activities.
• Prepare technical customer documentation and material master/BOM in SAP.

Required profile

• BE in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–6 years of experience in connector or automotive design.
• Strong knowledge of thermoplastics, elastomers, metals, plating materials and related manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, plating, assembly).
• Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis and risk assessment.

Required skills

• UG NX and Teamcenter for CAD modeling and data management.
• Creo (preferred) for air‑gap and creepage calculations.
• SAP for material master and BOM creation.
• MS Project and MS Office for project management.
• GD&T, tolerance stack‑up, DRBFM and FMEA.
• Knowledge of connector test specifications, OEM requirements and EV high‑voltage connectors.
