Design Engineer – Secondary Substation Electrical

About the role

The Design Engineer (Secondary) will handle secondary engineering activities for substation projects, focusing on protection and automation systems. The role involves reviewing designs, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve Control Relay Panel (CRP) and automation drawings supplied by vendors.
• Coordinate with site execution and cluster teams for design clarifications.
• Interact with vendors to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare design calculations for CT/VT, battery sizing, and develop DC & AC single line diagrams.
• Review Bill of Materials and compare with tender quantities.
• Conduct pre‑tender engineering, including BOM estimation and offer reviews for secondary equipment.

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in secondary engineering of substation projects.

Required skills

• Protection and automation system knowledge.
• Control Relay Panel (CRP) design review.
• CT/VT calculation and battery sizing.
• DC & AC single line diagram development.
• Bill of Materials estimation and comparison.
