Design Engineer – Jigs & Fixtures

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer specialized in high‑precision jigs and fixtures for gadget manufacturing. The role bridges customer concepts and shop‑floor execution, ensuring tooling meets strict precision, repeatability, and first‑article success standards.

Key responsibilities

• Audit customer 3D models and 2D drawings to identify assembly constraints and critical dimensions.
• Perform gap analysis for DFM/DFA and resolve technical ambiguities with customers.
• Define acceptance criteria and performance benchmarks for each fixture.
• Select and specify bought‑out parts (BOP) such as precision bearings, linear rails, slide ways, pneumatic cylinders, DCV valves, manifolds, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, switches, push buttons, and wiring harnesses.
• Create assembly guides and inspection check sheets for the toolroom.
• Lead troubleshooting during assembly and testing, and support First Article Inspection (FAI) to guarantee 100% specification compliance.

Required profile

• Expert‑level proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX).
• Strong analytical and root‑cause analysis skills for mechanical misalignments.
• Deep understanding of tolerance stack‑up and high‑precision manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to design pneumatic and electrical logic for automated fixtures.
