Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting of mechanical components and assemblies. The role is based in Pune and focuses on engine‑related projects, requiring both technical expertise and proactive problem‑solving.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D detail drawings using Advanced Creo (v8.0/9.0).
• Interpret requirements, perform basic design calculations, and create packaging layout concepts.
• Execute projects efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
• Provide proactive solutions to design challenges using structured problem‑solving techniques.
• Participate in internal meetings, suggest improvements, and handle technical changes in PLM systems (Windchill or similar).
• Create internal process documentation for new requirements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet timelines and resolve issues.

Required profile

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of engine domain, including engine functioning and critical assemblies.
• Understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M) and casting processes.
• Strong communication, ownership, and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Creo modelling (casting best practices, blends, swept blends, shrink‑wraps, merge inheritance, draft creation, family tables, relations, parameters).
• Windchill PLM – change management, part structure management, CAD part associations.
• GD&T application and interpretation.
• Stack‑up analysis.
• User‑level knowledge of casting processes and design considerations.
• 3D modelling, 2D drafting/detailing, basic design calculations, packaging layout design.
