Design Engineer - Interior & Exterior

About the role

The Design Engineer will develop interior and exterior components for TVS Motor's two‑wheelers. You will create design input documentation, conduct risk analyses and propose cost‑effective, lightweight solutions while ensuring compliance with packaging and manufacturing requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare design input sheets, DFMEA and DVP documentation.
• Generate alternative design concepts applying DFX principles (DFA, DFM, DFS) to meet cost, weight and packaging targets.
• Perform initial FEA, Moldflow and stamping simulations and recommend design improvements.
• Conduct IP checks, functional design reviews and resolve customer complaints.
• Create 3D master models using CAD and manage workflow approvals.
• Review designs for modularity, part commonisation and special characteristics (AQ, MBQ).
• Develop cost‑down and weight‑down plans for subsystems and benchmark against competitors.
• Validate supplier drawings for proprietary parts and ensure compliance with test requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Knowledge of Moldflow and stamping simulation tools.
• Ability to conduct DFMEA and develop DVPs.
• Understanding of DFX methodologies (DFA, DFM, DFS).
• Familiarity with IP verification and functional design review processes.
