Deputy Manager – Supply Chain Planning & Logistics

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Supply Chain Planning & Logistics will lead end‑to‑end warehouse operations for two plants (1518 ESP & 1554 DSP) in Kolkata. Reporting to senior management, you will coordinate with customers, branches, transporters and service providers to ensure timely dispatches, resolve issues and maintain optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse activities, coordinating dispatch tracking, customer queries and transport issues.
• Maintain healthy finished‑goods inventory and manage service‑provider SLAs for DC operations.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to shortages, wrong supplies or transit damages within target timelines.
• Collaborate with sales teams for regular, urgent and air dispatches, and maintain records of premium freight.
• Handle sales returns, insurance claims and scrap disposal in coordination with finance and material stores.
• Execute special assignments such as stock clearing, block‑stock and NMSM salvaging according to SOPs.
• Prepare reports and data analysis for management and special projects.
• Operate within a Warehouse Management System (WMS) environment.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with an MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management.
• 5‑6 years of experience in supply chain, logistics or inventory management within switchgear, electronics or electrical companies.
• Proven ability to lead teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP MM module.
• Proficiency in Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Strong knowledge of supply chain and inbound inventory management.
