Deputy Manager – Payments & Merchant Acquiring

About the role

The Deputy Manager – Payments & Merchant Acquiring will lead the launch of QR acquiring for Bajaj Finance in the Pune territory. You will build a high‑performing field team, drive merchant onboarding, and oversee QR, SB and POS/EDC deployment to generate transaction volume and gross merchandise value.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and motivate a Field Operations Sales (FOS) team and ensure high productivity.
• Acquire merchants and drive QR, SB and POS/EDC deployments across the assigned territory.
• Develop distribution channels, map coverage, and manage channel relationships.
• Maintain retailer payment reconciliation and drive sales numbers.
• Collaborate with partners on sales promotions and ensure process rigor and controllership.
• Provide monthly store activation and point‑of‑sale visibility as per company standards.
• Deliver proof‑of‑concept for QR and EDC acquiring initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduation or MBA with 2‑4 years of relevant experience (MBA 1‑4 years or Graduate 3‑6 years acceptable).
• Prior exposure to Payments, FMCG or Telecom prepaid sales is mandatory.
• Experience handling merchant relationships directly.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and high energy for field work.
• Self‑starter attitude with a passion for meeting retailers.
