Deputy General Manager - Security

About the role

The Deputy General Manager – Security will lead site security operations for a coal mining facility. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures the safety of assets, personnel and the surrounding environment through strategic planning, surveillance, and stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage automated surveillance systems and CCTV for continuous monitoring of the plant area.
• Establish and enforce access control protocols for all entry and exit points.
• Integrate advanced security technologies to enhance vigilance both on‑site and in surrounding areas, including railway lines used for coal transport.
• Develop and execute contingency plans for railway security threats and ensure uninterrupted coal transportation.
• Prevent and investigate white‑collar crimes, security breaches and other incidents, taking corrective actions promptly.
• Maintain effective communication with local authorities, government agencies, community leaders and legal teams.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable mining security laws and regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing security operations for large industrial or mining sites.
• Strong understanding of security automation, access control and surveillance technologies.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple external stakeholders and legal teams.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
