Deputy General Manager - Product Analyst Lead

About the role

UPI is the backbone of India's digital payments revolution — and Paytm is one of its largest participants, processing hundreds of millions of transactions every month. We are looking for an Analytics Lead to join our UPI team and own the data and insights charter that powers product, growth, and platform decisions across our UPI‑powered flows.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end analytics charter for UPI surfaces, defining metrics, instrumentation and insight generation while partnering with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Diagnose friction across the UPI journey using funnel decomposition, cohort studies and behavioural models to inform product and growth strategy.
• Define and monitor platform reliability benchmarks, build alerting, anomaly detection and root‑cause playbooks for payment failures.
• Design, power and evaluate A/B experiments across the UPI funnel, building self‑serve dashboards and surfacing insights that shape roadmap decisions.

Required profile

• 7–9 years of analytics or data experience focused on consumer‑facing products or fintech, preferably payments or UPI.
• Strong command of SQL and hands‑on experience with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or Metabase.
• Proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis and experimentation design.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and clear, decision‑ready recommendations.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team of analysts and delivering high‑quality dashboards at scale.
