Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Accounts

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Accounts to lead the accounts function for a renewable energy business. The role requires deep expertise in large‑scale accounting, taxation and financial planning, and will oversee a team handling companies with turnover above 1000 Cr.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the accounts team, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial processes.
• Oversee preparation and finalisation of financial statements, MIS and consolidated reports.
• Manage direct and indirect taxation, including compliance, assessments and strategic tax planning.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning aligned with organisational goals.
• Ensure statutory compliance under Companies Act, Income Tax, GST and other applicable laws.
• Coordinate internal and statutory audits with internal stakeholders.
• Provide insights on cost control, working‑capital optimisation and profitability.
• Implement robust systems, controls and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Contribute financial expertise to renewable‑energy projects, ensuring proper accounting treatment and reporting.

Required profile

• CA or CMA qualification with 7‑8 years of post‑qualification experience, preferably from a reputed accounting firm.
• Proven experience handling accounts of large‑scale companies (turnover > 1000 Cr).
• Exposure to infrastructure and renewable‑energy sectors is highly desirable.
• In‑depth knowledge of accounting standards, direct & indirect taxation and corporate laws.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor accounts teams.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
