About the role
The Debt Manager will lead the collections function for a micro‑finance portfolio, ensuring timely recovery of EMIs while complying with bank guidelines. This role coordinates in‑house teams and external agencies to optimise recovery performance across the assigned territory.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end collections process for assigned debt buckets.
- Track portfolio performance and monitor delinquency metrics (bucket‑wise and DPD‑wise).
- Set and achieve targets for internal teams and external collection agencies.
- Conduct regular follow‑ups with defaulting customers and ensure adherence to legal collection procedures.
- Trace absconded defaulters, initiate recovery actions, and recommend legal steps for non‑recoverable cases.
- Maintain accurate administrative records, delinquent account history, and MIS reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Required profile
- Graduate or postgraduate in any discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in collections or debt recovery.
- Strong understanding of collection processes, legal compliance, and delinquency control.
- Proven ability to manage teams and external agencies effectively.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and follow‑up capabilities.
