Data Scientist – Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Deloitte’s Digital Excellence Centre is looking for a Data Scientist with strong Machine Learning engineering skills to design, build and evolve AI‑driven products for clients across India. You will work alongside designers, engineers and product managers to turn complex data into actionable solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to identify high‑impact data applications and translate business problems into analytical solutions.
• Mine, clean and explore medium to large data sets to uncover insights and new opportunities.
• Design, develop and maintain robust statistical and machine‑learning models, including deep‑learning and NLP solutions.
• Implement automated pipelines, monitor model performance and iterate to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead testing, deployment and continuous improvement of data‑science solutions across functional teams.
• Design and evaluate A/B tests to validate model impact.
• Provide feedback on data‑collection processes to ensure data quality and integrity.

Required profile

• Strong ability to process complex data sets and perform exploratory data analysis.
• Proven experience applying statistical modelling, machine learning, deep learning and NLP to solve business problems.
• Excellent communication skills to explain statistical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Creative thinker with a track record of innovating through data exploration.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, flexible environment that requires multitasking.
