Data Platform & BI COE Trainee (Digitization)

About the role

The Data Platform & BI COE Trainee will work at the intersection of business analysis, data engineering and analytics. You will translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical requirements while gaining hands‑on experience with modern data tools and cloud platforms. The role emphasizes documentation, stakeholder communication and support within a governed BI ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business teams to define use cases, KPIs, metrics and acceptance criteria.
• Document requirements, process flows, user stories and functional specifications.
• Assist in routine checks of Power BI workspaces, Databricks repositories and shared semantic models.
• Contribute to COE playbooks, templates, training materials and community sessions.
• Support supervised development of Power BI reports, including semantic modeling, DAX measures and security configurations.
• Write intermediate SQL queries for data validation and reporting.
• Develop a working understanding of cloud concepts (compute, storage, networking, IAM, scalability) on platforms such as Azure, Databricks and Fabric.
• Participate in testing, UAT and adoption support activities.

• Strong analytical mindset with a natural affinity for documentation and stakeholder communication.
• Eagerness to learn data engineering concepts, databases and cloud services.
• Ability to translate business problems into structured technical specifications.
• Team‑player attitude, comfortable bridging business users, data engineers and BI developers.
