Data Engineering Manager

About the role

MoRMoR is building an AI‑native broking platform for Indian futures & options traders. As a Data Engineering Manager you will design and operate the data architecture that powers real‑time personalization, recommendation feeds and AI‑driven chat interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement an event pipeline that captures every trader interaction (chat queries, option chain views, orders, feed taps) into a clean, typed stream.
• Create a persistent, evolving trader profile store that reflects preferences, strategies and sector interests.
• Build the data layer that feeds the ranking engine for personalized feed cards.
• Integrate trader context into the AI chat system to adapt responses per user behavior.
• Develop and serve low‑latency computed features (affinity scores, recency‑weighted interests, strategy complexity).
• Design progressive profiling for cold‑start users to deliver useful personalization from day one.
• Own data quality by monitoring pipeline health, freshness and feature drift.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale data platforms for recommendation or personalization systems at high‑traffic companies (e.g., Flipkart, Swiggy, Instagram).
• Hands‑on experience with event streaming technologies such as Kafka, NATS or Pulsar.
• Track record handling millions of users, high‑volume event streams and real‑time feature computation.
• Understanding of financial data contexts where stale or incorrect data can have serious consequences.
