Data Engineer

About the role

Persistent is seeking a Data Engineer to design and develop end‑to‑end data pipelines and manage data warehouse solutions across India. The role focuses on building scalable data platforms using Spark, PySpark, Snowflake and DBT, supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Spark/PySpark and SQL.
• Build and optimise Snowflake data warehouse, including Snowpipe and cost‑efficient storage.
• Develop DBT models, implement SCD Type 2, and perform data transformations.
• Ingest, transform, and load data from multiple source systems (ETL/ELT).
• Design dimensional data models (star/snowflake schemas) for reporting.
• Monitor and tune query performance and pipeline efficiency.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and deliver solutions.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.

Required skills

• Snowflake (data warehousing, Snowpipe, optimisation).
• Apache Spark / PySpark for large‑scale data processing.
• DBT for data modelling, testing and transformation.
• Advanced SQL for complex queries and performance tuning.
