Data Center Technician – Cloud Operations

About the role

As a Data Center Technician within Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will learn and apply standard processes for installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and de‑commissioning data‑center equipment. The position offers exposure to the infrastructure that powers services such as Azure, Office 365, Bing, Xbox and OneDrive.

Key responsibilities

• Track and resolve issues by escalating when needed and seeking guidance from senior technicians.
• Participate in daily safety briefings, complete required safety training, and follow all safety procedures.
• Handle assigned tickets efficiently, meeting KPIs and SLAs under supervision.
• Follow security and data‑management policies, completing mandatory security training.
• Maintain a client‑focused mindset to understand the impact of work on service availability.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing information and supporting peers.
