Data Analytics Analyst

About the role

Join American Express as part of the Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) team, helping merchants and banks maximize the value of American Express acceptance. You will work on scalable analytics products and insights that drive strategic outcomes for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Frame ambiguous business problems, develop hypotheses, and translate analysis into actionable recommendations for GMNS and network partner priorities.
• Deliver scalable analytical products, BI solutions, and insight frameworks to improve decision‑making and support strategic outcomes.
• Apply analytics, automation, and modern data practices to simplify workflows and enable repeatable capability development.
• Work with large and complex datasets using Python, SQL, Big Data platforms, Google Cloud Services, and visualization tools to generate high‑quality insights.
• Build measurement, KPI, segmentation, trend, root‑cause, reconciliation, and opportunity‑sizing approaches to identify drivers, risks, anomalies, and growth opportunities.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, data science, or analytical product development.
• Hands‑on experience using Python and SQL to analyze and transform complex datasets.
• Practical experience with Tableau and/or Power BI for dashboarding and reporting.
• Exposure to cloud‑based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline; post‑graduate qualification preferred.
