Cybersecurity Engineer – Product Security

About the role

The Cybersecurity Engineer will join Eaton’s global security team to embed a ‘Security by Design’ mindset into products, solutions and services. You will work on a wide range of technologies, from IoT devices to cloud‑based applications, ensuring they meet rigorous security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on existing and upcoming Eaton products, including IoT devices, web and mobile applications, and embedded systems.
• Support threat modeling and risk‑assessment activities early in the product development lifecycle.
• Drive certification and compliance efforts for standards such as UL2900 and IEC62443.
• Develop tools, scripts and automation frameworks to scale security testing across the organization.
• Provide technical security training to developers, test engineers and other stakeholders.
• Monitor the evolving threat landscape and continuously improve Eaton’s security processes.
• Assist with cybersecurity project management and operational excellence initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 3–4 years of product cybersecurity experience (or 1 year if holding a Master’s degree).
• Ability to work in diverse, multicultural and geographically dispersed teams and present to senior leadership.

Required skills

• IoT security, web/API pentesting, cloud‑infra testing (Azure).
• Hands‑on experience with tools such as Nessus, Burp Suite, Kali Linux, Black Duck, Defensics, Coverity, Azure Defender, CrowdStrike and Invicti.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols (HTTPS, HSTS, TLS, SSH, 802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee) and industrial protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, WirelessHART, CAN).
• Experience with threat modeling, risk assessment and product certification processes.
• Relevant certifications (CEH, OSCP, AZ‑900, AZ‑500) are a plus.
