Cyber Security Risk Manager

About the role

The Cyber Security Risk Manager will join BASF’s Digital Hub in Hyderabad to lead the company’s information security compliance and risk program. You will work with cross‑functional teams to ensure that BASF meets legal, regulatory and internal standards while fostering a security‑aware culture.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and assess adherence to security and data‑protection regulations, internal policies and industry standards.
• Plan, coordinate and execute internal and external audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Provide consulting, awareness training and guidance to business units on security topics.
• Identify, evaluate and track information‑security risks, and implement mitigation measures.
• Prepare compliance status reports and communicate findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, internal audit, data‑protection officers and external auditors.
• Support preparation and maintenance of certifications such as ISO 27001 and TISAX.
• Analyse security incidents, capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement of processes.

Required profile

• University degree in IT, business informatics, engineering or a comparable field.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication skills and assertiveness.
• Proven expertise in cyber‑security governance, risk and compliance, including familiarity with the IIA three‑lines‑of‑defense model.
• In‑depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to information security.
