Cyber Security Officer

About the role

The NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital is seeking a motivated Cyber Security Officer to join its Digital Services team. Reporting to the Cyber Operations Manager, you will help protect the organisation's digital environment, supporting both clinical and non‑clinical operations across more than 2,000 staff.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain and improve security technologies such as anti‑virus solutions, firewalls, internet filtering, vulnerability management, endpoint protection and secure remote‑access systems.
• Support cyber incident response, conduct security audits and assist with compliance activities.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies and frameworks.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues across Digital Services and NHS Scotland networks.
• Assist in delivering new security initiatives and ensuring alignment with industry standards.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a cyber security or IT environment.
• Degree‑level education in a relevant cyber security discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous professional development.
