Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

As a Cyber Security Engineer at GE Vernova Grid Solutions you will design, implement and optimise cybersecurity measures for high‑voltage substations and related renewable energy assets. You will work closely with project managers, OT engineers and the OT Engineering Cybersecurity Leader to ensure secure, reliable operation of critical infrastructure worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments for operational technology (OT) systems.
• Design and implement security controls such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, access controls and network segmentation.
• Collaborate with OT engineers, IT teams and management to embed cybersecurity into system design, deployment and maintenance.
• Perform penetration testing and remediate identified security weaknesses.
• Provide technical guidance on OT security standards, policies and procedures.
• Work with third‑party vendors to evaluate and ensure the security of supplied OT components.
• Deliver security training and awareness programmes for OT operators and related personnel.

Required profile

• University degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Cyber Security Engineering, Computer Science, IT or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project security or OT cybersecurity.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and results‑driven with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt working hours as needed.
