Cutting Tool Application Engineer (CNC Machining)

About the role

We are looking for a Cutting Tool Application Engineer to lead tool development, process optimisation and cost reduction for CNC machining at our Mysore competence centre. The role focuses on improving productivity, tool life and overall manufacturing efficiency across automotive, medical, semiconductor and other high‑tech sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with process engineering to select optimal cutting tools for turning, milling and turn‑mill applications.
• Lead end‑to‑end tool selection, including geometry, material, coating and grade, based on workpiece material and machining conditions.
• Develop and implement tooling strategies to meet Cost Per Component targets, reduce cycle times and enhance productivity.
• Introduce next‑generation tools and advanced machining technologies to improve competitiveness.
• Troubleshoot tooling‑related issues and provide technical solutions to ensure uninterrupted production.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with cutting parameters, tool coatings, tool regrinding and productivity improvement techniques.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication and vendor coordination skills.
