Customer Quality Engineer – Sriperumbudur

About the role

The Customer Quality Engineer will be the primary quality liaison for 3M customers in the Chennai region. You will work closely with customers to understand their quality requirements, address concerns, and drive corrective and preventive actions that keep assembly operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Handle customer complaints, deploy containment actions, and coordinate permanent corrective and preventive actions with technical and plant teams.
• Ensure timely closure of CAPA items on customer portals.
• Negotiate and communicate with customers when issues arise that are not related to 3M product quality.
• Visit customer sites regularly to maintain quality rhythm and support trials for new products.
• Provide feedback to cross‑functional teams and manufacturing plants based on observations at customer sites.
• Collaborate with global technical and quality teams to resolve issues and achieve zero‑defect targets.
• Lead customer meetings on quality complaints and improvements, and maintain required quality documentation.

Required profile

• Experience handling customer quality concerns and driving corrective actions.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional and global teams.
• Strong communication skills for negotiating with customers and presenting quality data.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in the Chennai region.
